Accounting Associate

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Associate to join our team in Memphis, Tennessee. This role is essential in ensuring accurate financial transactions, supporting reconciliations, and contributing to month-end close activities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to improving accounting processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Process and facilitate vendor payments, including wire transfers and other banking transactions, as authorized.
  • Prepare and deposit physical checks into the appropriate accounts.
  • Support accounts receivable tasks by processing cash applications and addressing customer deductions.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and assist in resolving outstanding balances.
  • Conduct vendor statement reconciliations to ensure timely and accurate payment processing.
  • Investigate discrepancies between vendor records and company accounts, providing effective resolutions.
  • Research and analyze vendor invoices with exceptions to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Contribute to month-end close activities by preparing journal entries and providing reconciliation support.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance payment workflows, deduction management, and system operations.
  • Maintain organized accounting databases and automated records for seamless financial tracking.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in preparing journal entries and maintaining general ledger accounts.
  • Experience with month-end close activities, including financial reporting and reconciliations.
  • Strong knowledge of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve discrepancies in financial records with precision.
  • Skilled in using accounting software and tools for efficient data management.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication abilities to coordinate with vendors and internal teams.
  • Capability to adapt and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
