This opportunity calls for a skilled Cardiac Cath Lab Technician with comprehensive knowledge in cardiac, vascular, respiratory, and renal physiology and pathology. The role demands expertise in ECG interpretation, cardiac medications, and advanced procedures within a catheterization lab. Key Responsibilities: Assist in orientation and training of new Cath Lab staff. Participate in special projects and committee meetings related to cardiac care. Apply medical ethics in all professional duties. Recognize and interpret ECG waveforms, including lethal arrhythmias, and respond with Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) measures when necessary. Identify cardiac pathologies and understand corresponding symptoms and treatments. Manage cardiac and vascular medication administration accurately, recording dosages and indications. Monitor clinical laboratory values such as arterial blood gases, electrolytes, hemoglobin, BUN, and creatinine, alerting physicians to abnormalities. Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation and full components of a cardiac arrest response as a skilled technician. Support diagnostic cardiac catheterization procedures, providing necessary supplies, and setting up equipment. Calculate hemodynamic parameters and document events in catheterization databases. Monitor percutaneous interventions and differentiate techniques such as PTCA, rotational atherectomy, and laser revascularization. Explain indications and complications of thrombolytic therapy. Utilize advanced imaging supplements, including intravascular ultrasound and Doppler velocimetry. Understand electrophysiologic testing, pacemaker implantation, and arrhythmia ablation procedures. Operate and troubleshoot Cath Lab fluoroscopy systems effectively to aid physicians during procedures. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Cardiac Cath Lab Technician, demonstrating solid knowledge of cardiac anatomy and pathology. Proficiency in ECG interpretation and adherence to ACLS protocols. Familiarity with cardiac catheterization and interventional devices. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams. Ability to mentor and train Cath Lab staff.
