We are searching for our new

AVP of Asset Protection . This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing strategies aligned with Mission Fed’s goals to mitigate fraud exposures. They will oversee all activities in the Cardholder Protection and Asset Protection Areas, ensuring regulatory compliance, fraud detection, and effective claim management across debit, credit, ATM, check, ACH, and Zelle transactions. department staff.

Base Pay/Salary:

$118,000.00-$145,000.00 annually

This position is pay grade 14E. Actual base pay within this range will be determined by several components, including but not limited to, relevant experience, internal equity, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

Manages a comprehensive Fraud Mitigation Program to minimize losses by developing strategies to measure and mitigate exposure across all account products and services, frontline process improvements and chargeback recoveries while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Oversees department operations; grants overrides and exceptions for staff. Serves as liaison between branches and departments on fraud or loss matters and partners with leaders in other departments to ensure timely actions and/or reporting of fraud cases.

Leads and ensures successful implementation of process improvements for fraud and loss mitigation, collaborating with leadership, vendors, Core Processing and Digital Strategy teams and identifying leading fraud risk reduction methods and tools.

Prepares reports on claims, losses, and mitigation efforts, providing recommendations to improve organizational processes to the Operations VP. Leads and manages projects for process enhancements. Prepares requested internal and external audit materials and implements recommended changes based on findings.

Develops, directs and implements procedures to maintain strong operational controls for all areas of Cardholder Protection and Asset Protection. Keeps the team and senior leaders informed on product enhancements, system changes, rules and regulations and compliance issues as needed.

Builds and leads a high-performing team that fosters a culture of accountability and awareness.

Develops and delivers training programs to ensure procedures are followed, claims are processed consistently, compliance requirements are met, documentation is maintained, and deadlines are observed.

Here is what we are looking for:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent is required. Two years of equivalent experience can substitute for every one year of education.

A minimum of 5 years of fraud prevention experience, including oversight for regulatory claim management.

Additionally, a minimum of 5 years’ experience successfully working with a team in supervisory or management role is required.

Proven success building a credit union fraud management program to include development of processes leveraging existing technology and/or deployment of new technology solutions to prevent fraud and maintain regulatory compliance is required.

Experience in claim management covered by Regulation E and Z and the Bank Secrecy Act are required. Experience in Mastercard Processing and Chargeback Rules is preferred.
