Job Title: Warehouse Manager
Location: Kent Salary: up to £50,000
Overview We are seeking a highly capable Warehouse Manager to lead daily operations at our busy Sittingbourne site. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience from a 3PL or logistics services environment, with the ability to manage large volumes, multiple clients, and a rapidly changing operational landscape. Experience in e-commerce fulfilment is a strong advantage.
You will be responsible for ensuring efficient, accurate, and safe warehouse operations while leading, developing, and motivating a diverse team.
Key Responsibilities Operational Management
Oversee all day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring service levels and KPIs are consistently achieved.
Ensure accurate and timely receipt, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch of goods.
Monitor workflow and allocate resources to meet customer and client performance targets.
Implement and maintain robust warehouse processes to enhance efficiency and reduce errors.
Support new business onboarding, operational ramp-ups, and client change requests.
People Leadership
Manage, coach, and develop warehouse supervisors, team leaders, and operatives.
Plan workforce scheduling, including managing overtime, holidays, and agency labour.
Conduct performance reviews, training, and disciplinary processes where required.
Foster a positive culture focused on safety, quality, and high performance.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Ensure full compliance with H&S, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment.
Conduct risk assessments and promote best practices across the site.
Systems & Reporting
Utilise WMS systems to monitor performance, improve accuracy, and drive efficiency.
Produce operational reports for senior management.
Support continuous improvement projects and cost-saving initiatives.
Client & Stakeholder Management
Build strong relationships with clients to understand service requirements.
Respond to client queries and support service reviews and audits.
Collaborate closely with Transport, Customer Service, HR, and Finance teams.
Experience & Skills Required
Proven experience managing a warehouse within 3PL, contract logistics, or similar logistics environments.
Strong understanding of warehouse processes, inventory management, and fulfilment operations.
People management experience with the ability to lead large teams.
Confident using WMS and warehouse technology solutions.
Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Experience in e-commerce fulfilment (desirable but not essential).
Strong understanding of H&S requirements and compliance standards.
