Job Title: Phlebotomist IJob Description
The primary role of the Phlebotomist I is to assist in performing various duties, including troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations. This position involves drawing blood, labeling specimens, centrifuging, recording maintenance data, decontamination, and updating patient information.
Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, and record maintenance data.
+ Clearly and courteously explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collection methods.
+ Verify test requisitions or computer labels against scripts for accuracy.
+ Attend annual department training sessions.
+ Respond to telephone inquiries and read laboratory results.
1-2 years of recent phlebotomy experience.
+ Proficiency in blood draw techniques from pediatric to geriatric patients.
+ Strong customer service skills, showing respect and understanding to patients.
+ Experience with venipuncture and specimen collection.
High school diploma or equivalent.
+ The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. Training for this role will last about one week.
This is a Contract position based out of Huntsville, AL.
