Purple Drive is hiring: Mainframe Tester (Automation) in Pittsburgh

8+ years of software testing experience, including deep hands-on work in both manual and automated frameworks , Playwright, Cucumber. • Proven track record building end to end test strategies for complex, front to back workflows. • Hands-on experience with legacy mainframe systems: understanding how the mainframe processes data, designing and validating data-migration flows from mainframe to distributed tiers, and testing those migrations in the live mainframe environment. • Strong influencer: comfortable partnering with Product, DevOps, Engineering and Operations to embed quality throughout the delivery lifecycle. • Skilled at balancing PODs individual priorities while maintaining a coherent, end-to-end test strategy across both distributed and mainframe platforms. Skilled at risk-based testing: prioritizing what to test when timelines are tight and leveraging data to drive coverage decisions. • Hands-on with CI CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, DevOps) to build automation into nightly/regression suites. • Expert in Playwright for UI automation and Insomnia for API testing. • Familiarity with modern test management platforms TestRail, qTest and defect-tracking tools JIRA. • Proactive in surfacing risks early and driving cross-team alignment on scope, timelines and acceptance criteria.
