Corporate Safety Manager
Location: Chicago, IL
Lead Safety Across a National Footprint
A nationwide specialty contractor is seeking a Corporate Safety Manager to lead safety operations across multiple geographic regions. Known for self-performing in a wide range of trades—including drywall, roofing, fireproofing, insulation, and more—this organization is focused on excellence at every level of construction delivery. This role is pivotal in reinforcing a safety-first mindset throughout the company’s field and leadership teams.
As Corporate Safety Manager, you’ll partner with regional operations, project teams, and field personnel to drive safety compliance, reduce risk, and proactively support a high-performing workforce in maintaining jobsite safety every day.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct regular on-site safety audits across multiple regions to evaluate hazard exposure, verify compliance, and promote best practices. * Collaborate with field supervisors and project managers to identify safety gaps and implement effective preventive and corrective measures. * Refine and maintain company safety procedures, ensuring they are practical, up-to-date, and aligned with operational needs. * Lead thorough investigations of incidents and near-misses—document findings, determine root causes, and track resolution of corrective actions. * Maintain safety records including training logs, inspection results, and regulatory documentation. * Deliver in-person safety training and on-site coaching to promote strong awareness and personal accountability at all levels of the workforce. * Maintain a balanced and professional approach to policy enforcement, combining proactive engagement with clear corrective follow-up. * Travel as needed across designated regions to support projects and teams on-site.
What We're Looking For
* 3+ years of safety experience in commercial construction or industrial environments. * Strong command of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant safety standards. * Effective communicator with the ability to lead, influence, and support teams in the field. * Well-organized with a high level of attention to detail in documentation and compliance tracking. * Physically capable of navigating job sites, including elevated or confined areas. * Calm under pressure with sound decision-making in high-stakes environments. * Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., CHST, STSC, OSHA 510) or willingness to obtain. * Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
Why This Role Stands Out
This is a high-impact position with a company that believes safety is not just a priority, but a core value. The organization offers a strong benefits program, including profit sharing, healthcare coverage, and additional voluntary benefits. With a commitment to investing in people and creating opportunity from within, this role is ideal for a safety professional ready to make a lasting impact across a growing national footprint.
