Job Description The Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) is seeking an Employee Relations Partner to join our dynamic Human Resources team! Are you passionate about delivering exceptional customer service, solving complex problems, and upholding the highest standards of integrity? As an Employee Relations Partner, you will contribute your experience and knowledge toward fulfilling our Mission – Making Lives Better Through Transportation. In This Role, You Will
Champion customer service by providing timely, empathetic, and effective support to employees and leaders.
Solve problems by analyzing workplace concerns, recommending fair and practical resolutions, and conducting thorough investigations.
Model integrity by interpreting policies, codes, and laws with transparency and advising others on ethical application.
Coach leaders through both small and large employee issues, offering consultation and resolution guidance.
Support policy development and deliver engaging training sessions to promote understanding and compliance.
Teach leaders in one‑on‑one and classroom settings on topics related to employee relations.
Qualifications
Excellent communication skills and a commitment to producing high‑quality work.
A passion for customer service, a proactive approach to problem solving, and an unwavering dedication to integrity.
A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for teamwork.

Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes three years of full‑time work performing technical human resources work.
