Payroll isn’t just numbers—it’s trust. In this role, you’ll be the person who ensures employees across the country are paid accurately, on time, and in full compliance with the rules that matter. You’ll also be a go‑to partner for benefits administration, and open enrollment with clarity and care.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Manage end‑to‑end
weekly payroll
for 200+ employees across multiple states
Ensure payroll transactions are processed
accurately and on time
every cycle
Reconcile payroll prior to submission and validate final reports
Apply correct federal, state, and local tax rules
Reconcile time entries to job‑cost timecards
Maintain accurate employee payroll records and documentation
Assist with year‑end and regulatory reporting, including W‑2s, 941s, 1095s, and 1099s
Partner with internal teams and vendors to ensure timely and accurate filings
Support employee benefits administration: new‑hire enrollments, changes, terminations, and annual open enrollment
Serve as a knowledgeable, approachable resource for benefits‑related questions
Respond promptly to payroll and benefits questions, investigate and resolve discrepancies with professionalism and discretion
Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the team
What You Bring
High school diploma required; post‑secondary degree preferred
5+ years of full‑cycle payroll experience for 200+ employees
Multi‑state payroll experience required; union payroll and reporting experience is a plus (not required)
Strong understanding of payroll best practices and compliance requirements
High attention to detail with excellent analytical skills
Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable working with employees and leaders at all levels
Ability to juggle competing priorities without losing accuracy or focus
Proficiency in Windows‑based environments and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams; PowerPoint a plus)
