Metrocon, Inc., a growing ready‑mix concrete company, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to lead HR operations across multiple plant locations and support continued organizational growth. This position is headquartered in Six Mile, South Carolina, with regular travel required to company plants in Six Mile, Travelers Rest, Inman, and Gray Court.
Position Overview The Human Resources Director plays a critical leadership role in overseeing recruiting, retention, compliance, and HR operations for a diverse workforce operating in a highly regulated construction and trucking environment. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with DOT/FMCSA, OSHA, DHEC, and employment laws, while fostering a safe, positive, and compliant workplace culture aligned with company goals.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all HR functions including recruiting, onboarding, retention, and employee relations.
Ensure full compliance with DOT/FMCSA, OSHA, DHEC, and federal, state, and local employment regulations.
Oversee HR policies, procedures, and documentation across multiple plant locations.
Support plant leadership and management with HR guidance and compliance matters.
Promote workplace safety, accountability, and a positive company culture.
Drive HR initiatives that support organizational growth and operational excellence.
Qualifications & Experience
3–5 years of progressive HR leadership experience, preferably in the construction or trucking industry.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
HR certifications (SHRM‑CP, SHRM‑SCP, PHR, SPHR) preferred.
Working knowledge of DOT/FMCSA, OSHA, DHEC, and employment law strongly preferred.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Compensation Salary range: $60,000 – $75,000 annually, based on experience.
