Job Overview
One of our competitive clients is looking to find a new technician to join their team. This IT support role requires keen customer service along with a strong understanding of supporting Windows, Unix, and various other client systems. Ability to learn quickly, adapt, and work shifts covering days, nights, and weekends.
Key Responsibilities
Day to day monitoring of the primary and ancillary systems for health and availability.
Front line problem resolution and coordination of repairs with department personnel and/or other company personnel.
Notification to key customers for the coordination of system outages and events that may impact other critical systems.
Provide input to the Team Lead and Supervisor on continual process improvement and customer feedback.
Qualifications
Formal education in Computer Science or related IT field or equivalent experience.
Working knowledge of Windows based operating systems.
Working knowledge of AIX or other UNIX based operating systems.
Working knowledge of distributed computer networks is a plus.
Excellent interpersonal skills and strong written and oral communication.
Ability to apply excellent customer service skills.
Ability to meet regulatory compliance requirements (CIP, Sarbanes‑Oxley, and others) and follow change‑management processes.
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks based on criticality and operational impact.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with key customers.
Experience working in a team‑oriented, sometimes stressful environment with coordinators, transmission control center personnel, and management.
Intermediate level experience.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Birmingham, AL.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
