Job Description
Tax Senior Manager, Transfer Pricing responsible for advising clients on transfer pricing implications related to their business objectives, recommending alternative courses of action, and identifying methods of complying with transfer pricing regulations. The role also includes marketing, networking, and business development within the area of experience and specialization, recognizing potential changes in tax policy and applying new policies to tax compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Research: complete financial analysis related to intercompany transactions, evaluate industry data and client‑provided financial data to document appropriate intercompany pricing policies, identify appropriate research and frame key issues.
Tax Compliance: determine scope of transfer pricing projects, establish budgets and timelines, draft and present proposals to prospective clients, administer economic analysis and compose final reports, ensure client compliance with transfer pricing requirements, propose year‑end transfer pricing reviews, manage engagement metrics, plan projects and schedule, administer engagement letters.
Tax Controversy: represent clients before tax authorities on contested issues with guidance from senior transfer pricing professionals.
Transfer Pricing Consulting & Documentation: develop, recommend, and implement appropriate transfer pricing methods, prepare planning/documentation reports, apply regulations to specific transactions, analyze impact of new regulations, collaborate with internal and external experts, identify cross‑selling opportunities, provide advice to maximize benefits.
Tax Provision & FIN 48: apply transfer pricing principles to tax provisions and FIN 48, review related provisions, partner with assurance professionals for tax accrual reviews.
Practice, Staff & Business Development: identify opportunities, prepare and deliver client presentations, draft proposals, research tax topics, summarize recent developments, draft tax alerts, create slides, prepare training materials, manage special projects to improve practice.
Tax‑related Software: use tax research databases and other software; knowledge of statistical packages preferred.
Other duties as required.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise day‑to‑day workload of transfer pricing managers, senior associates and associates, review work product.
Ensure staff are trained on relevant tax software.
Evaluate performance, assist in goal setting, deliver performance feedback, complete evaluations.
Act as career advisor.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field (required). Advanced degree preferred.
Eight (8) or more years of prior experience, with experience in a transfer pricing practice and supervising professionals on an engagement basis (required). Experience with transfer pricing and tax provisions preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Prior exposure to tax research databases; statistical analysis software preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication, superior analytical and research skills, strong organization, ability to multi‑task, manage teams, build relationships, network and grow business.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and act as a primary contact on engagements.
Salary Range National: $99,750 - $262,500
