Responsibilities
Responsible for maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems and servers on the network.
Install and upgrade computer components and software, and integrate automation processes (e.g., Windows servers/workstations, Log Management, etc.).
Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing the impact of issues.
Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new/upgrades to the IT infrastructure.
Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
Apply and maintain STIGs across operating systems to ensure baseline security compliance; manage and verify hardened system backups for rapid recovery.
Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as required, including build guides/directives, to ensure reliable/repeatable system builds.
Provide analysis to optimize and tune overall system performance.
Assist site ISSO personnel with configuration of LogRhythm SIEM tool to ensure all audit data is being captured and proper alerts are set up for notifications of security‑relevant events.
Familiarity with databases and a readiness to assist the ISSO or DBA in performing periodic security reviews.
Assist the ISSO in the ATO process by performing system hardening, remediating audit findings.
Up to 75% travel to the customer site at Pt. Mugu, CA.
Required Education & Qualifications
U.S. citizen with an active Department of Defense Secret clearance.
Ability to work 5 days per week on‑site at Point Mugu in Ventura County, CA.
High school diploma or equivalent.
10+ years of System Administration experience.
CompTIA Security+ or CompTIA Cloud+.
Operating System/Computing Environment certificates: Microsoft, Linux, or Hypervisor (Cloud).
Ability to support up to 75% travel to the customer site at Pt. Mugu, CA.
Ability to lift equipment up to 50 lbs.
Experience/knowledge of:
Microsoft Windows and Server.
RHEL Linux.
NAS implementation and management.
Virtualization concepts.
DISA STIGs.
PowerShell scripting.
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or Information Systems from an ABET‑accredited or NCAE‑designated institution.
Experience with any of the following:
Navy ATO Experience.
VEEAM.
FIPS/CC implementation.
STIG Viewer.
Networking concepts.
