Overview
Career & Externship Advisor role offers a unique opportunity to split your time between guiding students through their career journey and coordinating hands‑on externship experiences. You’ll work closely with the Director of Career Services to provide support, maintain employer relationships, and track student progress, making a direct impact on our graduates’ success.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and guide students for externships through workshops, counseling, and individualized support.
Identify and place students on externship sites quickly after course completion.
Monitor attendance, timesheets, and performance, providing constructive feedback.
Develop and expand relationships with existing and new externship sites.
Maintain affiliation agreements, site documentation, and student files.
Conduct site visits to ensure optimal student performance and work environments.
Advise students and graduates on career opportunities, resumes, cover letters, and interview skills.
Identify job opportunities and strengthen employer partnerships; conduct site visits as needed.
Collect, verify, and document graduate employment outcomes.
Provide letters of recommendation and prepare placement reports for regulatory agencies (ACCET, HRA, ACCES).
Lead career workshops and counseling sessions to enhance workforce readiness.
Qualifications
Completed Medical Assistant training or experience in phlebotomy, EKG, and vital signs.
Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
Previous experience in recruiting, career advising, or student placement highly preferred.
