Lead Specialist, Spine Professional Education

in Raynham, MA. Open to remote options for the right candidate. Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans.

Position Summary The Lead Specialist will support the DePuy Synthes Spine Digital and Enabling Technology Platforms (VELYS, TELIGEN) and collaborate on the creation of learning strategies, content, and programs for our external/clinical customers. This role predominantly focuses on the VELYS Active Robotic Solution and TELIGEN visualization platforms, with the potential for expanded responsibilities within the Digital Surgery portfolio and Core Spine projects. The role strives to set industry standards for effective HCP learning journeys that address a pathway from awareness to mastery implementing innovative learning strategies that encourage successful adoption and the safe implementation of the Digital and Enabling Technology portfolio.

This role will support and lead institute, regional and national programs aligned with the Digital (Enabling Tech) spine strategy within North America. These programs will be inclusive of Customer Education Visits, Preceptorships, Hands‑on Labs, Courses, and more. The individual will collaborate and align with Managers, Professional Education, Marketing, and Sales on key procedures, portfolio segments and solution strategies including budgets, facility and faculty requirements. As part of the Digital Professional Education team, the individual will deliver consistent, high‑quality education experiences for learners while ensuring compliance with all legal, regulatory and HCC policies to include Advamed, Pharma, ACCME and other global legal and regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and develop end‑to‑end clinical and skills‑based learning strategies and curricula designed for our current and future technology platforms.

Conduct VELYS Spine Robot+Navigation, TELIGEN, and Core Spine Portfolio Hands‑On training and demonstrations in non‑clinical settings for physicians and OR staff in accordance with standardized protocols.

Develop educational content and assets across a wide range of mediums.

Collaborate with regional education and commercial partners to ensure consistency, quality, effectiveness, and compliance.

Support in development of strategies to optimally utilize the online platforms of DePuy Synthes.

Identify and implement new trends in learning media and technology‑based performance development solutions to enhance effectiveness and innovation of training programs.

Support content development for Spine products outside of the VELYS platform as needed (Core, TELIGEN, etc.).

Qualifications Required

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree.

A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

A minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical Device Education, Sales, and/or Marketing or equivalent surgeon customer‑facing experience.

Strong clinical expertise and spine/orthopaedic/medical device training experience.

Demonstrated ability to work with and successfully educate to various learning styles using multiple modalities.

Strong influence management and communication skills.

Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Demonstrated ability to develop internal and external networks.

Experience and ability to learn variety of proprietary registration, quality, and efficiency related tools.

This position will be based in Raynham, MA and will require up to 50% domestic travel, primarily on weekends.

Preferred

Spine/Ortho Experience – Spine preferred; Medical education/training, spine sales representative, Spine Marketing or equivalent customer‑facing responsibility.

Proficient in robotic, navigation systems, or related technologies within spine (or comparable field).

Demonstrated procedural knowledge, specifically spine interventions.

Compensation & Benefits Base pay range: $94,000 to $151,800. This position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the applicable plan. Employees may be eligible to participate in the company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year.

Sick time – up to 40 hours per calendar year (up to 56 hours per calendar year for employees residing in Washington State).

Holiday pay, including floating holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year.

Work, Personal and Family Time – up to 40 hours per calendar year.
