Our passion for children’s literature shines through all our products & services. We are seeking a talented and experienced Payroll & Benefits Manager to join the Shared Services team. This is a remote position, with the ability to drive to the Dublin, Ohio office as needed. Key Responsibilities
Payroll / HRIS: Perform timely and accurate biweekly payroll processing in ADP Work Force Now. Experience with multistate jurisdictions, ADP Time & Attendance. Maintain bi-weekly payroll related audit reports and records. Manage and process monthly sales commissions calculation and process with payroll on a monthly basis. Independently resolve a variety of complex payroll problems as they arise and maintain detailed records in ADP Work Force Now. Create and send new hire offer letters, new hire communications and new employee onboarding processes/checks. Perform criminal background and reference checks. Assist with phone screenings as needed. Process all terminations. Provide ADP manager / supervisor training and support to employees, supervisors, and new hires. Provide information and respond to employment verifications. Process garnishment notices. Utilize and create ADP reports to ensure system accuracy and provide Ad Hoc reporting as requested by management. Benefit Plan Management & Employee Support: Serve as the first point of contact for employee benefit inquiries and provide guidance on plan options, coverage details, and eligibility. Experience with HRA, FSA, Flexible Spending helpful. Liaise with insurance carriers, brokers, and vendors to resolve employee concerns and ensure accurate benefit administration. Process benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations in ADP and with benefit carriers. Partner with carrier and internal communications to promote benefits education and engagement. Manage end-of-year tax documents and benefit-related communications. Manage the annual open enrollment process including planning, communication, system setup, and post-enrollment audits. Manage COBRA administration, ensuring timely notifications and documentation. Partner with carriers and internal communications to promote benefits education and engagement. Assist with 401k enrollments and audits as requested. Experience/Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business, or equivalent industry. 5 to 7 years of human resource, payroll, and benefit administration. Must be proficient in payroll processing and HRIS software ADP WorkForceNow. MS Office Suite, strong usage of Excel. SHRM, HRCI or equivalent certification is a plus. Possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Have thorough knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Demonstrate strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Maintain integrity, professionalism, and strict confidentiality. Exhibit excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Have effective communication and interpersonal skills. Exceptional written verbal communication skills.
