Duties/Responsibilities

Maintain operation of PFT lab, including performance of pulmonary function testing on patients, appropriate scheduling and registration of outpatients/inpatients referred for testing.

Maintain standard operating procedures to ensure effective record keeping processes.

Perform efficient/effective quality control/compliance. Adherence to all applicable regulatory agencies: Joint Commission of Allied Health Organization requirements and American Thoracic Society standards.

Maintain effective communication tools with physician’s offices in order to efficiently receive referrals and process PFT reporting.

Understanding of PFT equipment/computer operation, calibration, and trouble-shooting problems that may arise.

Understand appropriateness of test values, statistical methodology and assessment of validity/reliability of test results.

Experience/Knowledge/Skills Required

Previous experience performing pulmonary function testing.

National Board of Respiratory Care Certification/Registration in Pulmonary Function Testing (CPFT or RPFT) or obtained within 12 months of hire.

Experience with computer systems, including Microsoft office Word, Outlook, Excel, Power point.

Education Required

Graduate of A.M.A. approved certification program for Respiratory Therapy.

Two-year program with an Associate Degree in Respiratory Care.

Registration/Certification

Massachusetts License.

National Board Certification. CRT or RRT.

American Heart Association BLS Certification required

NPR certification preferred

Pay Range $31.00 - $54.80

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. The pay range for this position is established and governed by the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Employees hired into this position will receive compensation consistent with the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
