Speech Language Pathologist – Outpatient Clinic Positions located at Winton Road Facility, Rochester, NY. Full-time, Monday-Friday during business hours, with occasional evening work as required.

Annual salary commensurate with experience: Licensed SLP $61,600 – $78,000. Eligible for a $3,000 signing bonus payable in installments: 25% ($750) after 3 months, 25% ($750) after 6 months, 50% ($1,500) after one year.

Summary / Objective

Responsible for diagnosis and treatment of speech and/or language disorders for individuals enrolled in or referred to CP.

Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Speech‑Language Pathology.

New York State License in Speech Pathology or eligibility for one.

Certificate of Clinical Competence by ASHA preferred.

Current knowledge of prevention, assessment, and intervention principles for communication and swallowing disorders, including anatomical, physiological, psychological, developmental, linguistic, and cultural correlates.

Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.

Excellent listening, oral, and written communication skills.

Valid NYS Driver’s License.

Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office.

Essential Functions

Promotes the CP Rochester and Happiness House Vision, Mission, and Philosophy.

Upholds NYS Education Law/Practice Act regarding speech therapy practice.

Maintains confidentiality per agency policy.

Performs evaluations to determine need for speech therapy services.

Ensures valid prescriptions written for all caseload individuals.

Carries out treatment plans in clinic, Article 16 & 28 outpatient clinics, Preschool or School Programs as necessary.

Consults with teachers, habilitation staff, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate quality services.

Works with legal guardians, house staff, or parents as interdisciplinary team members when needed.

Communicates with physicians and other medical personnel to facilitate evaluation and treatment.

Completes paperwork per agency, program, department policies.

Documentations using Electronic Health Record, Medicare, Medicaid regulations.

Attends team, discipline, and staff meetings as designated.

Maintains treatment area in orderly manner for safety.

Advise supervisor of clinical staff regarding equipment needs.

Review status and program modifications with interdisciplinary team and Program Supervisor.

Set short‑ and long‑term objectives.

Provide individual and/or group therapy at certified sites, off‑site locations as assigned.

Offer in‑service education to employees, caretakers, and interested groups.

Participate in program planning, development, research, evaluation under department supervisor.

Supervised field placement for university‑affiliated students as assigned.

Adhere to agency policies and procedures, department guidelines.

Participate on committees, attend conferences, workshops, in‑service training as needed.

Perform other duties at discretion of President/CEO or designee.

Supervisory Responsibility None. May supervise a Speech Language Pathologist intern from an accredited institution periodically.
