Overview This role covers evening and weekend shifts as a Per Diem Laboratory Technologist. The work involves culture set‑ups, molecular testing and routine diagnostics in a busy, high‑volume clinical laboratory.
Responsibilities
Microbiology culture set‑up and work‑up
Cepheid, BioFire and MALDI‑Tof molecular testing
Microscan testing and other routine diagnostics
Per Diem coverage of evenings and some weekends
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or a related science
New York State license – Clinical Laboratory Technologist
Preferred: ASCP certification
Greater than 1 year of experience; 2+ years preferred in Bacteriology, Mycology, Mycobacteriology
Physical/Environmental Conditions
Standing or sitting in the same location; may require stoop, climb or lift light material (20 lbs. or less)
Indoor area with frequent exposure to mild dust, fumes, temperature and noise
Category 1 hazards: exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, and other potentially infectious materials; electrical and radiant energy hazards; odorous chemicals and specimens
Employment Type Part‑time – Variable shift (United States of America)
Compensation Base pay $66.00 – $72.56 per hour, plus additional benefits consistent with the role
