Overview
Maintenance Technician I, II or III at Cherokee Nation assists electricians, plumbers, and carpenters with installation and repair of electrical, plumbing, and structural systems.
Job Duties
Gather tools and supplies for work‑site.
Measure, cut, bend wire, conduit, pipe, and other materials.
Drill holes and pull or push wiring through openings.
Assist in lifting, positioning, and fastening objects such as wiring, conduit, and motors.
Perform minor repairs such as replacing fuses, light sockets, bulbs, and switches.
Maintain tools, equipment, and supplies in order.
Disassemble defective equipment, replace worn parts, and reassemble equipment.
Clean work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
Complete required paperwork.
Prep worksite by clearing debris and leveling surface.
Perform basic carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical tasks.
Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities No supervisory responsibilities are required.
Qualifications
Education
– High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; or six months related experience and/or training.
Experience
– Three additional years in maintenance required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
– Valid driver’s license with a qualified motor vehicle report.
Other Skills and Abilities
– Coursework in building trades, fire and safety management preferred.
Other Qualifications
– Must not be under sanction by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General or the General Services Administration and must not be listed on the OIG’s Cumulative Sanction Report, GSA’s List of Excluded Providers, or OIG’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
Physical Demands Regularly use hands to handle objects and tools; stand, reach, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; lift up to 100 pounds; close, distance, and color vision required.
Work Environment Work near moving mechanical parts, in outside weather, near electrical shock risk; occasionally high, precarious places; frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles; noise level usually loud.
