Position Title Clinic Front Office Receptionist and Cashier Position Control Number 998851 Type of Position Staff Position Status Full-time Campus Patient Care Center-Pomona, CA Position Location California Department 2015-Eye Care Institute Job Summary Responsible for greeting patients and other for the Eye Care Institute; schedule patients and confirm patient appointments; process patient payments and receipts; verify insurance eligibility and benefits. Works collaboratively with the optometric staff to assure patient satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Greet and check-in patients for scheduled appointments. Schedule patient appointments with the appropriate provider, while accommodating the patient’s needs. Confirm scheduled appointments by contacting the patient one day prior to their physician visit. Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for patients prior to their appointment and update any changes to the patient’s insurance and benefit information. Ensure patient demographics and insurance information are entered into the practice management system accurately. Assist patients, if needed, with completion of registration forms and verify that all paperwork is completed. Collect patient payments, issue receipts, and post payments in the practice management system. Reconcile the daily cash deposits collected. Prepare the daily deposits for checks arriving in the mail, make copies of checks and deposit slips for the billing department. Establish and maintain hard copy and/or electronic files and records. Perform a variety of clerical duties, e.g. photocopies, collates, distributes, mails, faxes, files, delivers and/or picks up materials from on or off-campus. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. The College reserves the right to add or change duties at any time. Required Qualifications Education:

Any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Graduate Equivalency Diploma or High School Diploma required. Experience:

1-3 years of experience in a similar or related position. Preferred Qualifications:

Bi-lingual – Spanish speaking is highly preferred. Experience in an optometric setting is helpful, with a working knowledge of health insurance eligibility and benefits processes. Work Schedule Monday – Friday either 8am – 5pm or 9am – 6pm. Some evenings and weekends required.
