Our flagship property, The Dune House at Atlantic Beach, blends modern coastal luxury with timeless hospitality. We seek a dedicated Steward to support our restaurant and kitchen operations, ensuring a clean, efficient, and compliant environment.
Responsibilities
Under general supervision, provide the restaurant and kitchen with clean and sanitary ware.
Gather all dirty dishware from tubs brought to the dish room, rinse and stack in dishracks, clearing dishes of leftovers and trash to prepare for automated washing.
Load full dishracks on belt and ensures correct placement according to machine instructions. Operate automatic dish washing machine using controls as instructed.
Load dishwashing solutions into automatic dispensers and regulate detergents and chemicals by monitoring and adjusting controls.
Unload clean dishes from racks after processing, inspect for cleanliness, and carefully stack in specified carts and shelves for staff use.
Manually scrub pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment that cannot be washed automatically, using detergents, scourers, and special solutions as required.
Polish all silver, stainless steel, and pewter used in food service to present clean equipment to diners.
Maintain automatic dishwashing equipment in good condition and working order, following manufacturer instructions to prolong life and meet health regulations.
Keep the dish room clean and orderly by sweeping, mopping, emptying trash, wiping counters and equipment, and organizing shelves.
Mop kitchen floors and clean all kitchen work surfaces, walls, ceilings, hoods, vents, and ovens as scheduled.
Gather all trash cans from kitchen work areas at shift end and empty into outside compactor.
Sweep loading dock and kitchen entrance areas, removing litter and debris to maintain safety.
Perform other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management.

Physical Demands
Must be able to see minute objects at arm’s length, read meters and controls.
Must be able to bend, squat, crouch, crawl, reach, and retrieve items from above head.
Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs, including serving trays, carts, tables, chairs, and small equipment up to 75% of the time.
Must be able to travel up to 300 feet and stand regularly throughout the shift.
Must be able to understand and follow verbal/written instructions and communicate effectively.
Must be able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and pay attention to details in crowded and noisy situations.
Must have the ability to minimize breakage by handling china, glassware and fragile equipment with care.
Environment Prolonged standing, walking, lifting and carrying throughout shift in 95% indoor environment. Freezer temperatures may reach -10 degrees.
