Tax Accountant Associate
Location: Canton, MA – Hybrid
In this position, you’ll be based in the Canton office for a minimum of three days a week, with the flexibility to work from home for some of your working week. http://computershare.com/flex
We give you a world of potential Computershare’s Tax Operations division is responsible for the remittance and reporting of all U.S. withholding tax and reportable payments to the IRS, CRA, and various state agencies. As a Tax Accountant, you’ll play a key role in ensuring compliance with strict deadlines and regulatory requirements while working collaboratively across teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.
A role you will love In this role, you’ll be responsible for the daily identification and proper record keeping of withholding tax and adjustment transactions. You’ll monitor daily balancing of withholding totals, validate deposits to the IRS, and ensure timely and accurate money movement to fund withholding transactions. You’ll also handle monthly and annual balancing of withholding totals to system reports and tax form production, resolving discrepancies as needed.
Key Responsibilities Include
Validate daily deposits to the IRS and ensure accuracy and timeliness
Approve daily compilation of withholding liabilities and remittances
Monitor monthly and yearly balancing of withholding liabilities
Compile preliminary liability totals for annual tax returns (Forms 945 and 1042)
Ensure resolution of discrepancies and compliance with IRS and state guidelines

Strong attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines
Good understanding of accounting basics
Proficiency in Excel and ability to work with spreadsheets and databases
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively and support continuous improvement projects
Preferred
Two years of higher education and experience in Transfer Agent operations

Compensation The typical base pay range for this role is $24 - $30 an hour.
