The Walsh Group – Walsh Construction & Archer Western is hiring a Civil Foreman for the CAP CMAR Aqueduct Hydrology Improvements Phase 1 Precon project in Surprise, AZ. The role involves supervising, coordinating, and scheduling a crew of 3–15 construction employees and overseeing the operation of heavy equipment to construct, maintain, or repair highways and other civil structures. Responsibilities
Supervise crews within the specific area or portion of the project.
Schedule and coordinate activities of assigned craft workers and align schedules with other trades.
Read construction specifications and plans to determine requirements and plan procedures.
Locate, measure, and mark site locations or placement of structures or equipment using measurement tools.
Record operational data such as personnel, production, or operational information on specified forms or reports.
Assist workers engaged in construction or excavation using hand tools or equipment.
Examine and inspect work progress, equipment, and construction sites to verify safety and ensure specifications are met.
Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a drug‑free work environment.
Train and supervise workers on company policies, safety practices, regulations, and procedures.
Qualifications
5–8 years of verifiable construction experience, with 5 years of Foreman experience preferred.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience managing crews and subcontractors.
Effective communication with crew members, project management, subcontractors, and vendors.
Ability to read and understand work plans.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in adverse weather conditions.
Ability to climb and maintain balance on scaffolds/ladder; good manual dexterity.
Strong work ethic and desire to learn.
Must pass a pre‑employment drug screening.
