Title Subject Matter Expert (SME) - Automation & Control Valves

Location Open / Remote (Must be willing to travel ~50%)

Hire Type Direct Hire

Compensation $128K - $192K base salary

Bonus 20% annual bonus

Role Summary A leading organization within the Automation & Control Valve space is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) specializing in Anti‑Surge and Severe Service applications. This individual will serve as the technical and commercial authority for these applications, supporting sales and commercial operations while collaborating globally with cross‑functional teams. The SME will play a key role in driving bookings, revenue, and profitability by defining application guidelines, supporting product development, and strengthening market positioning for Anti‑Surge and Severe Service solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Expand market presence and bookings related to Anti‑Surge and Severe Service applications

Serve as the go‑to technical expert for Sales and Commercial Operations when specifying products

Collaborate with Commercial Operations to define application guidelines and optimal technical/commercial solutions

Partner with Product Management and Engineering to develop or customize products, including required certifications

Support Sales teams with vendor list inclusion and RFQ readiness

Develop insights and recommendations related to market‑level pricing and service requirements

Analyze competitive offerings and identify differentiation strategies

Develop and deliver training materials to improve organizational knowledge across functions

Collaborate globally across regions and departments

Qualifications

Deep expertise in anti‑surge valves and severe service applications through education and/or experience

Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial operations, sales operations, or related roles

Ability to interface effectively across global regions and cross‑functional teams

Strong interpersonal skills with a customer‑focused, high‑urgency mindset

Ability to produce professional reports and presentations

Creative problem‑solver with the ability to think outside the box

Willingness to travel 50% or more globally

Preferred

Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field
