Maintenance Tool Room Specialist - Nebraska State Penitentiary

Hiring Agency : Correctional Services - Agency 46
Location : Lincoln, NE
Pay : $21.836/hour + $3.00/hour facility differential for hours worked
Duties
Order and manage inventory: responsible for ordering and maintaining inventory for parts, materials, and tools; including purchases using a p‑card or electronic purchase requests.
Chemical handling: manage the chemical inventory, which includes weighing chemicals and ensuring the balances are properly maintained.
Emergency response: pick up parts for emergencies to support operations, as needed.
Vehicle and tool management: maintain the mileage log for an assigned vehicle and order new tools as required.
Qualifications
Associates degree or equivalent vocational education in construction, industrial engineering, HVAC, welding, or other building trade.
Experience in building maintenance, a mechanical trade, or performing safety inspections, investigations or training may be substituted for education on a year‑for‑year basis.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Applicants must pass a medical exam and a drug test, and successfully complete the fully paid NE Corrections Training Program.
Preferred: experience in chemical inventory management and vehicle maintenance.
