Job Duties
Paint walls, doors, moldings, fixtures (interior and exterior). Apply paint to surfaces including canvas, walls, floors, doors, and cabinets. Mix, match, and apply paint, varnish, shellac, enamel, and other finishes. Scrape, sandpaper, prime, or seal surfaces prior to painting. Clean walls to ensure proper adherence.
Remove and install carpet tiles
Remove wallpaper and prep wall for different applications
Hang whiteboards, banners and pictures
Assemble furniture; move furniture
Repair interior walls (patch holes, sand, replace drywall as needed)
Replace damaged ceiling tiles in common areas
Prep areas before painting/repairs and clean areas after completion of project.
Maintain clean tools, equipment, and work area at all times; ensure that workspaces are kept free of debris
Apply primer, paint, stain, or varnish to prepared surfaces using tools and equipment of the trade.
Prepare surfaces for painting by removing objects from walls, washing walls, patching holes, repairing cracks, replastering, and sanding surfaces.
Move furniture, office equipment, and other objects and apply protective covers & drop cloths.
Remove and replace molding and fixtures.
Obtain supplies, equipment, and materials.
Install/repair toilet seats and toilet paper holders in bathrooms as needed.
Identify and report any possible repairs around the plant
Assist custodial crew with steam cleaning carpets, application of wax and buffing floors as needed and/or as work allows
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Able to read a tape measure
Ability to follow instructions and timelines
Ability to use sound judgment
Meticulous attention to detail (aligned and level; straight edge painting)
Knowledge of methods, techniques, materials, tools, and equipment used in the work.
Knowledge of the different types and uses of paints, stains, varnishes, and lacquers.
Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work.
Skill in the use of tools, materials, and equipment of the trade (tape measure, power tools)
Skill in preparing wood, metal, plaster, and other surfaces for painting and finishing.
Ability to estimate time, labor, and materials necessary to complete work orders.
Ability to follow blueprints, specifications, and instructions.
Physical Requirements The job duties require an employee to bend, reach, stoop, stand and/or walk for extended periods. The job duties require an employee to climb ladders. The job duties may require an employee to lift and/or move heavy objects. The job duties require an employee to discern colors.
