Production Machine Operator II - 2nd shift (Line 2)

Richelieu Foods, Inc. is a leading national private label and contract packing food manufacturer focused on frozen pizza. We have two manufacturing facilities located in IL and WI. We provide products to many national retailers, wholesalers, distributors, club and mass stores, as well as industrial accounts including other food manufacturers.
Job Summary The Machine Operator II (Line 2 - 2nd Shift) is responsible for operating and maintaining multiple machines or more technically advanced machinery on the production line to ensure products are manufactured per customer specifications. This role is ideal for someone that has prior experience operating production equipment and is ready to take on greater responsibility within the manufacturing process. This position is located at our Beaver Dam, WI manufacturing facility.
Essential Functions
Ensure that all work activities are performed with attention to the highest standards for quality and safety and follow the appropriate food safety requirements for an accident‑free workplace.
Setup machinery on production lines that maintains conformance to customer specifications, including proper application of ingredients/materials.
Break down machinery at end of shift if applicable to the production needs.
Ensure that all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) are followed.
Responsible for making any adjustments needed to run production efficiently.
Accurately record any downtime of the line.
Ensure machinery is maintained in a sanitary condition.
Recommend measures to improve methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
Follow company policies, and GMP’s in addition to performing housekeeping in the area.
Responsible for the use of required PPE as per assigned duties.
Must be able to follow verbal instructions from the Shift Supervisor.
Must be detail‑oriented and be able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Notify management of any Food/People Safety or Food Quality concerns.
Use handheld/iPad for recording consumption of materials.
Accomplish all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.
Able to troubleshoot machinery in a timely manner and notify the line supervisor of the troubleshooting process that was performed in order to resolve issue.
As needed, provide coverage for Machine Operator I &II’s during breaks, time off or absences.
Education
High school, GED, or equivalent.
Skills And Experience
18 months of food manufacturing or packaging experience.
Must be reliable and punctual.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
Ability to work overtime when scheduled.
Ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of diverse individuals within the plant.
Ability to read and write English.
Ability to write and read standard information to fill out company documents.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure including but not limited to pounds, ounces, and grams, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, and temperatures.
Ability to manage and operate multiple lines.
Implement and adhere to necessary safety precautions.
Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the is exposed to moving equipment in the production area. The work environment is hot. The employee is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions when performing sanitation on equipment. Employees must be able to wear hearing protection.
Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for the duration of the production shift; talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is infrequently required to sit, climb, or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Employees must be able to wear hearing protection.
Universal Pay Verbiage The following information is provided in accordance with certain state and local laws. Compensation depends on experience, geographic locations, and other factors permitted by law. The expected compensation for this role is $18.50 per hour. This role is also eligible for 2nd shift premium pay of $1.50 per hour and overtime compensation. Benefits for this role include medical, dental, and vision insurance, pre‑tax spending accounts, retirement benefits, paid time off, 401K with company match, short‑term and long‑term disability, and life insurance.
