Production Machine Operator is a mid-level position responsible for operating the production line equipment safely, effectively, and efficiently to ensure product compliance to company, industrial and customer standards. This position sets-up/changes over, adjusts, maintains, and operates the various parts of computerized/manual packing equipment. Strict compliance of all company GMPs and policies, Food Safety regulations, and SOPs is required. The position also requires the ability to work in a primarily standing position, have good reliability and flexibility, and communicate effectively with co-workers and the management of the company.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain necessary supplies for line, maintaining quality of production output. Includes preparing for next shift’s production and finalizing any paperwork in an accurate, clear, and concise manner.
Operate, monitor and manage all packaging and laser equipment and associated documentation.
Conduct full line and equipment start-up, changeovers, and operations.
Create, maintain, and update equipment programs and recipes to ensure maximum quality and productivity is achieved.
Set-up, verify and maintain equipment for proper coding of the packaging.
Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, and possible repairs on equipment.
Report any food safety issue observed to manager/supervisor immediately.
Audit and correct GMP, safety and cleanliness issues on the packaging line and area.
Responsible for the training and mentorship of new employees.
Ensure maximum productivity & efficiency in a safe and compliant manner to achieve packaging performance and quality goals are being met.
Build a culture of ownership, accountability, respect, and teamwork.
Ensure that all SOPs and GMPs are followed.
Responsible for maintaining a clean and neat work and departmental area. (e.g. sweeping the floor, removing debris/trash, end of shift cleaning.)
Maintain a working knowledge of all operating systems and machines.
Serve as backup in all packaging functionalities.
Requirements:
Previous experience operating machinery, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
Knowledge of tooling and materials handling techniques
Write and speak English clearly and concisely. Bilingual a plus.
Forklift experience and certification is a plus
Must be able to work weekends, holidays and rotating shifts (day/swing) as needed.
Experience / knowledge with automation is a plus.
Possess sound analytical problem-solving and documentation skills.
Demonstrate ability to prioritize conflicting demands.
