Job Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation, and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to residents. The RN collaborates with residents, families, and interdisciplinary colleagues to plan, implement and evaluate care. The RN demonstrates competency within the full scope of nursing expertise, applying age- and population-specific standards appropriate to the clinical setting. Responsibilities include preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, coordination of care, resident assessment, resident education, and various nursing interventions. The RN may serve as charge nurse, delegating tasks to licensed and unlicensed assistive personnel within their competence and within job descriptions, providing support to ensure safe, reliable resident care and timely resolution of service concerns.
Qualifications
Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program, preferably CAT, ACEN, or NLN CNEA.
Bachelor's Degree in nursing preferred.
Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where practice occurs (or multistate licensure if in an NLC state).
Obtains and maintains required department-specific competencies and certifications.
