Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128‑bed, full‑service, acute‑care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state‑of‑the‑art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.
Responsibilities Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Preceptor, the Nurse Resident is responsible for planning and delivery of direct and indirect patient care, developing nursing care plans in coordination with patient, family and interdisciplinary staff as necessary, and communicating changes in patient’s clinical condition with Physicians, Nursing Supervisor/Manager, and co‑workers as appropriate.
Essential Functions
Coordinate all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards.
Collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.
Contribute to the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care.
Collect patient’s health data; maintaining confidentiality with all information.
Analyze assessment data in determining patient problems.
Identify expected outcomes individualized to the patient.
Develop a comprehensive plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes.
Implement interventions identified in the plan of care.
Evaluate patient’s progress toward attainment of outcomes.
Assist with the plan of care, evaluate, modify and coordinate care, and communicate well with other disciplines.
Delegate tasks to unlicensed personnel in compliance with the Board of Nursing.
Conduct discharge planning, assisting the patient/significant others to obtain knowledge about illness, injury prevention, and teaching.
Qualifications Job Requirements:
BSN Graduate of a CCNE accredited program in nursing within the last 2 years (preferred graduate within the last year).
Registered Nurse (RN) with NJ Board of Nursing or an RN Multistate License part of the NLC Jurisdiction.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
BLS (Basic Life Support) by an institution accredited by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Required.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) required (must be acquired within 3 months of hire, or upon completion of orientation).
Experience not required, we will train and teach you.
Ability to multi‑task, adapt to changes quickly and productively.
Excellent interpersonal communication, teamwork, and customer service skills.
Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
