Job Summary We are seeking a qualified and caring Registered Dental Assistant to join our team! As a Registered Dental Assistant, you will provide top-notch dental care that makes our clients feel like family. You will provide assistance to the dentist during exams and procedures and complete administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments. The ideal candidate has an associate's degree from a certified school and previous experience as a Dental Assistant.

Schedule Full Time Monday - Friday 9-6; Saturdays as needed

Required Qualifications

Active California Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) License in good standing.

Associate’s Degree from a school accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation.

CPR/BLS Certification from an American Heart Association or equivalent provider.

Radiography Certification approved by the California Dental Board.

Knowledge of California Dental Practice Act.

Minimum 2 years of clinical experience preferred.

Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and dental imaging systems.

Excellent communication, organization, and patient care skills.

Bilingual in Armenian and Russian preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet and prepare patients for treatment, ensuring they feel informed and comfortable

Review and record patients’ medical and dental histories; take and record vital signs

Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions

Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during exams and dental procedures (e.g., restorations, extractions, endodontic treatments)

Apply topical anesthetics and desensitizing agents as permitted

Perform coronal polishing and apply fluoride treatments

Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays) following safety protocols

Take impressions for diagnostic models, whitening trays, and custom appliances

Place, pack, and remove temporary restorations as authorized by the Dental Practice Act

Document clinical notes and treatment details accurately in patient records

Communicate with patients regarding treatment plans and answer questions professionally

Assist with inventory control and ordering of dental and office supplies

Professional Standards & Infection Control

Ensure proper sterilization and preparation of instruments and dental equipment

Maintain operatory cleanliness and comply with OSHA, CDC, and dental board infection control regulations

Monitor sterilization logs and equipment maintenance schedule

Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations

Follow all office policies, procedures, and safety guidelines

Compliance & Regulatory Statement This position requires full compliance with the California Dental Practice Act, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations, and all internal practice policies and procedures. All scope-of-practice duties are conducted under the supervision of a licensed dentist as required by California law.
