Johnson & Johnson is rapidly expanding and is immediately hiring a qualified R&D Technician to support production demand and new product development.

Position Summary As an R&D Technician you will play a key role in developing and assembling innovative electrophysiology (EP) catheters and medical devices used in the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders. Johnson & Johnson is a global leader in cardiac electrophysiology, providing advanced catheter technology that helps physicians accurately map and treat arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation. The devices assembled in this role directly contribute to life‑saving treatments by improving the precision and effectiveness of minimally invasive cardiac procedures. Your work in assembling, soldering, and testing these devices ensures high‑quality, reliable medical solutions that help improve patient outcomes worldwide.

Pay Rate:

$30-$33 Hourly (depending on skills assessment test)

Job Responsibilities / Requirements

Builds new devices based on engineering designs and/or verbal instructions

Supports basic engineering activities to effect high quality processes and design guidelines for dissemination throughout the division

Checks basic layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensions

Requisitions equipment and materials; performs vendor and equipment analysis for engineers to determine feasibility

Supports designed experiments and capability studies, collects documents, and files records on process specifications

Collects design documentation and puts together training packets on new processes, materials, and equipment

Adheres to all company safety policies and procedures and other safety precautions within the work area

Provides support to Engineers in matters related to the discipline

Follows standardized procedures to perform his/her tasks, when applicable

Maintains his/her work area clean and organized

Initiates, adjusts and operates basic laboratory and manufacturing equipment

Has completed the environmental and safety training, appropriate for his/her discipline

Performs basic operational diagnostics tests, solves problems and disconnects components, subassemblies and manufacturing systems, processes and equipment with the purpose of isolating the failures, determining a solution and performing the necessary operations, documenting all the changes

Ensures that the tools and testing equipment are properly calibrated and repaired, according to the standardized operations procedures

Provides design support for research and development

Provides support for engineering change orders

Responsible for communicating business‑related issues or opportunities to the next management level

Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures

Performs other assigned duties as needed

Education & Experience

4 to 6 years of experience, preferably related to the position

High School, technical career, or equivalent

Experience in the Medical Device industry or medical field

Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing principles and practices, and procedures

Knowledge of specific business practices and software and software applications

Able to enter data on spread sheet and database applications

Ability to communicate effectively with Engineers and other Technicians

Ability to work cooperatively with coworkers
