Job Summary
Technicians are responsible for the safe operation of assigned chemical and/or gas distribution systems. This role involves handling containers, troubleshooting equipment, performing preventative maintenance, and serving as the primary communication point with customers.
Key Responsibilities
Handle and change-out of gas, chemical, and slurry containers. Troubleshoot and perform preventative/repair maintenance on gas and chemical equipment. Operate computer systems to support job functions and customer needs. Support quality systems and ensure compliance with safety standards. Serve as the primary communication point for customers. Perform noninvasive preventative maintenance using documented procedures and update electronic equipment logs. Participate in on-the-job training to develop proficiency with site equipment, including chemical, slurry, and gas delivery systems. Maintain accurate documentation and logs. Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE. Perform physical labor associated with cylinder and drum movements.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Ability to work twelve‑hour shifts (day and night on alternating schedules). Willingness to work rotating shifts, on‑call schedules, holidays, weekends, and off shifts. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to perform physical tasks including:
Climbing ladders up to 12 feet (with fall protection). Lifting 25–50 lbs. Bending, overhead reaching, and working in close quarters.
Fit for Duty Evaluation required prior to reporting and annually (includes pulmonary function test, audiogram baseline, and physical exam). Completion of hazardous communication training (“Right to Know”) prior to work.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with gas‑related equipment. Prior military experience (military‑friendly employer). Experience with gas and/or chemical delivery systems in ultra‑high purity operations. Technical degrees or relevant technical training. Proficiency in MS Office. Excellent communication skills. 1+ years of experience in warehouse or inventory control roles. Hands‑on technical and/or electronics experience. Certifications (if any): Forklift certification or other relevant technical certifications preferred.
