Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Las Colinas is hiring a Registered Nurse for our Emergency Department! The Emergency Department is a 3‑bed unit serving North Texas with 7 operating rooms, 12 private inpatient rooms, and a dynamic surgical partnership with United Surgical Partners International (USPI).

Registered Nurse Emergency Department Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care in the emergency department setting with initiative, flexibility, and responsibility.

Triage patients safely, rapidly, and accurately; determine priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs.

Communicate with Emergency Department physicians about changes in patient status, symptoms, and diagnostic and laboratory results; respond quickly to changes in condition or treatment.

Use triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care by accurately assigning triage categories.

Assess and reassess pain; apply pain management techniques and educate patients and families.

Monitor hemodynamic status and correctly interpret results; demonstrate knowledge of cardiac monitoring and treat dysrhythmias appropriately.

Perform waived testing per Clinical Laboratory policy and procedures and interpret results of waived tests.

Assist physicians with procedures in the Emergency Department.

Support and maintain a culture of safety and quality; perform all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of errors.

Qualifications

Graduate of a professional school of nursing; BSN preferred.

Current, active TX RN licensure.

BLS required; must obtain ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire date.

Minimum two (2) years clinical experience in Medical/Surgical, Intensive Care, or Emergency Room nursing.

Knowledge of TDH, Medicare, Emergency Preparedness and Joint Commission rules & regulations.

Independent sound nursing and management decision‑making ability.

Ability to utilize Electronic Health Care Record for patient documentation.
