Responsibilities
Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients by accurately assigning triage categories.
Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques and educates patient and family regarding pain management.
Ability to monitor hemodynamic status of patient and correctly interpret the results.
Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac monitoring, identifies dysrhythmias and treats appropriately.
Ability to perform waived testing per Clinical Laboratory policy and procedures and interpret results of waived tests.
Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of errors.
Supports and maintains a culture of safety and quality.
Demonstrates the ability to assist physicians with procedures in the Emergency Department.
Qualifications
Graduate of professional school of nursing, BSN preferred.
License
Current, Active TX RN licensure.
BLS required, must get ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire date.
Required Experience
Minimum two (2) years clinical experience in Medical/Surgical, Intensive Care or Emergency Room nursing.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of TDH, Medicare, Emergency Preparedness and Joint Commission rules & regulations.
Ability to make independent sound nursing and management decisions.
Liaison between staff and administration as needed.
Ability to utilize Electronic Health Care Record for patient documentation.
