Position Summary The Production Supervisor manages small work teams in a fast-paced, high-volume, unionized manufacturing environment. This role ensures production targets are met, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and maintains a safe and efficient workplace.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure the production plan is met, analyze issues with other roles, and implement sustainable continuous improvement solutions in the Zone
Promote a safe work environment, enforce mandated safety tools and procedures, and lead team safety initiatives
Monitor losses during the shift, use the C-Matrix to coordinate World Class Manufacturing activities, and improve Zone performance
Analyze quality KPIs, prioritize quality issues, and guide Team Leaders appropriately
Allocate personnel effectively on the line, manage absenteeism, train, and build strong teams
Collaborate with broader manufacturing support groups to lead problem-solving activities
Lead and participate in Kaizen projects focused on safety, cost, quality, throughput, and waste reduction opportunities
Requirements
High school diploma or GED required
Ability to work any shift and overtime as required
Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with all levels of plant personnel from hourly employees to senior leadership
Ability to build effective business relationships with plant leadership and customers
Goal-oriented self-starter capable of leading teams and handling multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
2+ years of supervisory experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
Experience in unionized workplaces
Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members
Familiarity with continuous improvement systems and lean manufacturing principles
Working knowledge of Google Suite
