Overview The Production Department Supervisor is responsible for the overall operation of its department, aligning cost, profit, and production goals. The role includes training and developing employees, planning and executing goals, and driving continuous improvement and safety initiatives.
Responsibilities
Manages the production operation across multiple departments and shifts. Leads and motivates a team to achieve maximum productivity.
Identifies, researches, and resolves operational problems and opportunities.
Evaluates performance of individuals and programs, coaching and counseling employees.
Manages cost, profitability, and inventory of the department.
Develops and implements methods to meet department goals.
Leads continuous improvement and safety initiatives, participates in Safety Committee.
Prepares reports and maintains records as required.
May drive a forklift to assist in moving material as needed.
Qualifications
High school education required.
Minimum 3‑5 years of manufacturing experience; 1‑3 years of people‑management experience.
Demonstrated ability to set agendas, manage time, and use visual aids effectively.
Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
Proficiency in UFP manufacturing systems and operational tools.
Knowledge of quality and continuous improvement programs (5S, TPM).
Understanding of safety policies, LOTO, and preventive maintenance.
Ability to provide daily feedback, conduct performance reviews, and develop employee advancement.
Successful completion of Forklift Driver licensing process.
