We’re seeking a hands‑on Systems Design Engineer to lead the design and development of advanced manufacturing equipment and systems supporting new product development and process improvement initiatives. What You’ll Do as a Systems Design Engineer: You’ll lead technical development activities focused on the design, prototyping, and improvement of manufacturing equipment and systems used in automotive and industrial applications. Your work will directly impact production stability, repeatability, quality, and sustainability across multiple facilities.
Systems Design Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
Lead design and development projects for new manufacturing equipment and systems
Create 2D and 3D models, technical drawings, and parts lists for prototype and production equipment
Research and integrate new technologies to improve product and process performance
Develop detailed design briefs, specifications, and documentation for equipment builds
Manage project budgets, cost estimates, and design validation activities
Present concepts and functional demonstrations to internal teams and leadership
Ensure alignment of equipment design with product manufacturing needs and performance goals
Collaborate closely with manufacturing, R&D, and quality teams to support APQP processes and production readiness
Drive continuous improvement and reliability initiatives in equipment and system design
Support both core product and electric vehicle (EV) program requirements
What We’re Looking For
Systems Design Engineer
:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred)
5–8 years of experience in equipment or machine design and development
Experience with manufacturing system integration and prototype development
Knowledge of magnet wire or similar manufacturing equipment is a plus
Proficiency in CAD software (2D/3D modeling) and design documentation
Strong understanding of modern equipment design principles and manufacturing processes
Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance considerations in equipment design
Experience supporting APQP or similar product development methodologies
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills
Ability to lead or contribute effectively in a team environment
Willingness to travel 20–30% domestically and up to 10% internationally
