What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
Bill and follow up on Medicare claims within regulatory guidelines
Maintain working knowledge of UB-04, modifier logic, HCPCS/CPT codes, and revenue line code descriptions
Process claims accurately for patients on CMS Qualified Clinical Trials and handle governmental denials and appeals
Communicate with various revenue departments and fiscal intermediaries/MAC on claims issues
Document clear and complete collection notes in the system for each account worked
What is Required (Qualifications):
Associate's Degree or equivalent college credit
Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible billing experience, with at least 3 years in governmental hospital billing
Ability to substitute required education with additional years of equivalent experience on a one-to basis
Knowledge of claims processing and compliance with billing regulations
Strong communication skills for interaction with various departments and external agencies
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
Experience in a cancer center or similar healthcare setting
Familiarity with Medicare RTP Billing and appeals processes
Proficiency in analyzing accounts and resolving discrepancies
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively
