We are looking for a dedicated Produce/Clerk to deliver a customer‑focused experience in Portland, Oregon. As part of the Kroger Family, you will help establish and maintain a safe, clean environment, assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals, and uphold quality assurance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Provide excellent customer service and uphold the Customer 1st strategy.
Maintain a clean, safe environment to encourage repeat visits.
Assist the department manager in meeting sales, profit, and quality assurance targets.
Follow the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
Prepare, package, label, and inventory merchandise; inspect quality and freshness.
Update product displays, stock merchandises, and ensure temperature logs are maintained.
Provide assistance to customers, including specials, recommendations, and product knowledge.
Report product ordering, shipping discrepancies, and safety concerns to management.
Cooperate in a high‑paced environment, manage conflict, and act with honesty and integrity.
Follow safety procedures, practice preventive maintenance, and report accidents or potential risks.
Assist with the preparation of produce platters/trays and inform customers of specials.
Recruit new team members and serve as a role model for the 3A’s of Friendly: acknowledge, assist, and appreciate customers.
Minimum Position Qualifications
Ability to handle stressful situations.
Effective communication skills.
Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).
Current food handlers permit upon employment.
Desired Experience
Comparable retail experience.
Second language (speaking, reading, or writing).
Knowledge of produce products to answer customer questions.
Experience with preparation of produce platters/trays.
Strong teamwork and conflict‑resolution skills.
