Research Specialist – University of South Carolina, College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Psychology, ASCENT Lab, Columbia, SC.

Advertised Salary Range: $33,339 – Salary commensurate with qualifications.

Job Summary Assists with coordinating research operations of the ASCENT Lab. Supports participant recruitment and community outreach, manages participant data, and administers experimental procedures (eye tracking, behavioral assessment, questionnaires).
Responsibilities
Recruit, screen, and schedule infant and parent participants, ensuring eligibility and accommodating infant routines.
Manage and maintain up‑to‑date databases of potential participants, implementing strategies for engagement and retention.
Organize and participate in community outreach activities to promote the study via flyers, listservs, social media, and clinical partner relationships.
Obtain informed consent, administer data collection protocols, and manage participant compensation in line with ethical guidelines.
Essential Function Yes.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 1+ year of related experience (or equivalent combination of certification, training, and experience).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with questionnaire data collection platforms such as REDCap.
Background in experimental studies in psychology or related fields.
Experience with community outreach efforts.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Experience interacting with infants (0‑2 years) and their families.
Strong interpersonal, organizational skills, and a sense of responsibility.
