The Enteral Nutrition Technician fills provider orders for infant formula, pasteurized donor human milk, and tube feedings in an accurate and timely manner. This job follows all applicable safe handling and sanitary guidelines and regulations. This job processes, stores, and handles feedings using aseptic technique and delivers to appropriate patient care units.

Experience REQUIRED:
Previous experience using a personal computer, keyboard and mouse
Previous experience using a calculator to obtain accurate arithmetic answers
PREFERRED:
Previous experience in hospital food service
Education / Training REQUIRED: High School Diploma or equivalent

Independent Actions Required
Inventories and pick up daily supplies for formula room.
Dispenses special products and discharges feeding supplies as requested.
Makes formula and tube feeding changes as requested. Handles and delivers donor milk per provider orders.
Enters patient charges in appropriate computer system.
Calculates feeding product daily needs from provider order.
Maintains meticulous sanitation in the formula room.
Orders formula products from approved vendors based on established par levels.
Additional Position Requirements
Works every other weekend and other shifts and hours as assigned by supervisor.
Schedules, including any requirements of shift rotation and hours of work, may be adjusted as necessary to meet staffing requirements or in the best interest of the work area.

Physical: Lifting less than 20 lbs.
Activities: Prolonged standing, Prolonged sitting, Frequent bending, Walking (distance), Climbing (steps, ladder, other), Reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive)
