Card Services Specialist I: Harahan Jefferson Parish Employees Federal Credit Union is seeking a detail‑oriented and motivated individual who will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the day‑to‑day operations and servicing of ATMs, debit, credit, and ATM card accounts in an effective and compliant manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assist staff and members with resolving both debit, credit, ATM card, and ATM‑related inquiries.

Promptly review and respond to internal and external voicemails and emails to support effective communication.

Order and perform maintenance on ATM, debit, and credit card accounts.

Review and take appropriate action on ATM check deposits, including approval, rejection, or adjustment.

Verify daily that all ATMs are operational.

Report ATM issues and claims to Dolphin Debit and ensure timely follow‑up on open service calls.

Submit ATM error claims to Dolphin Debit for resolution.

Issue provisional credit for ATM cash and check claims in accordance with policy.

File all ATM and Cash Advance settlement receipts.

Review and process daily debit and credit card exception reports, card issuance activity, and expired EFT reports to ensure accuracy and continuity.

Process debit card fraud disputes in accordance with Regulation E requirements.

Review Visa CAMS alerts and proactively place outbound calls on accounts flagged by fraud detection sources.

Identify and report card fraud trends on accounts to mitigate potential losses.

Process temporary debit card limit increases when requested.

Order card printer supplies for branches.

Review credit and debit fraud alerts.

Reverse returned credit card payments per accounting.

Reverse credit card payments made in error by member and/or employee.

Open new credit card accounts in Quick Assist.

Process balance transfers for credit cards.

Process credit card account transfers/upgrades in Quick Assist.

Process credit balance refunds.

Perform audit of branch instant issue card logs.

Place travel notices in Quick Assist and Episys for both credit and debit cards.

Maintain and demonstrate an acceptable level of knowledge of card services policies, procedures, and systems.

Consistently review and complete all necessary reports to ensure accuracy, compliance, and continuity of card services duties.

Qualifications

Professional, well‑developed interpersonal skills necessary for projecting a positive image as representative for the Credit Union.

Comprehensive knowledge of Credit Union ATM/Debit Card and Visa Credit Card policies and procedures, as well as applicable laws and regulations. Proficiency in personal computer use is required.

Work requires a Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university; or two to three years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Intermediate math skills (decimals, percentages, fractions) required.

Previous experience in a financial institution preferred.

Experience working in positions that require heavy telephone communication.

Demonstrate the ability to rapidly acquire proficiency in multiple systems and efficiently operate across various programs and platforms.

Exhibit self‑motivation to work independently, while effectively collaborating and contributing as part of a team.

Detail‑oriented and focused.

Flexibility to work irregular hours as needed.

Must have a positive attitude and demonstrate the ability to work well with others.

Effectively engages with people in person and over the phone to provide excellent service.
