Job Overview
Coordinator, Pre-Service - St. Peter's Hospital - FT Evenings Responsibilities
Provides oversight and support of the workflow and functions in accordance with level of experience, education and standards. Assumes an expanded role and increased responsibility including delegating to others. Participates in the development and process improvement of policies and procedures. Works closely with leadership to maintain efficient and effective operations to ensure quality in daily operations. Partners with leadership in the selection, orientation and performance feedback of the team. Coordinates operational, technical and/or clerical support services to enhance department processes and core work. Plans and organizes workflows, prioritizes customers’ needs, and may lead a small team; mentors others. Creates and maintains procedural standards and records; develops and maintains educational programs for team members, including new employee orientation. Utilizes multiple system applications for data collection and management; adheres to Trinity Health policies, confidentiality and safety standards. Collaborates on performance improvement activities to improve program efficiency and patient experience; identifies opportunities, develops solutions and leads the team to resolution. Communicates goals, standards and program expectations effectively; addresses conflicts and escalates issues as needed. Maintains a safe, organized workspace and steward resources to achieve commitments and quality standards. Supports professional growth of team members and seeks guidance when needed. Maintains working knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and Trinity Health policies to ensure ethical and safe work practices. Assists in the onsite orientation of new colleagues and participates in ongoing education; makes recommendations regarding performance evaluations. Coordinates and prioritizes patient flow to ensure smooth workload distribution to Patient Registration Representatives, expediting customer service, patient safety and throughput. Assists in developing policies and procedures for patient information, registration, financial screening, point of service collections, check-in processes and patient placement. Qualifications
Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent; minimum of three (3) years’ experience with competency in patient access, pre-service and/or registration. Ability to obtain national certification in HFMA CRCR and/or NAHAM CHAA within one (1) year of hire. Nice to have: previous leadership experience; knowledge of federal or state agencies (Medicare, Medicaid, VA, Charity Care) or revenue cycle accounts receivable. Pay and Benefits
Pay range: $21.20-$30.75 per hour. Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the FLSA will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
