Job Summary:
Patients' first and last point of contact in the office. Responsible for check‑in and check‑out duties, including entering charges, collecting deductibles and coinsurances, posting payments and scheduling follow‑up appointments. Assists with answering the telephone, registering new patients and making appointments. Able to multi‑task while maintaining a high level of customer service and accuracy. Communicates proactively and assists patients with questions and requests as necessary.
Key Responsibilities

Data entry of charges, deductibles, and coinsurance
Posting payments and scheduling follow‑up appointments
Answering the telephone and registering new patients
Providing proactive communication and assistance to patients
Maintaining high level of customer service and accuracy while multi‑tasking
Required Knowledge & Skills
High School Diploma or GED
No prior work experience required
Qualifications
One year of customer service experience preferred
Experience in a healthcare setting preferred
Excellent public relations skills and a pleasant, professional demeanor
Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, medical staff, patients, families, and third‑party payers
Independently make decisions with emotional maturity and sound judgment
Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑stress environment with frequent interruptions
Team‑oriented approach and ability to work well with others
Strong organizational skills for time utilization and patient flow
Proficient use of computer equipment
Good reading and writing skills with spelling accuracy
Analytical and prioritizing work skills
Professional appearance, detail oriented, and multitasking ability
Initiative and drive to see a project through to completion
