The Behavioral Health Professional is an essential member of our integrated care team, delivering evidence-based, high-quality care to individuals and families in the community.

Clinic Hours: Monday: 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Wednesday: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Thursday: 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Saturday (every other): 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Licensed Behavioral Health Professional Job Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive assessment and diagnosis of behavioral health patients

Assist providers in recognizing and treating mental, psychosocial, and substance abuse disorders

Provide effective treatment planning and assist patients in achieving goals

Evaluate crises and apply appropriate interventions and referrals

Provide assessment, consultation, and brief intervention for psychological/psychiatric disorders

Maintain an active presence and communicate with Primary Care Providers (PCPs) during clinic hours

Available for same-day and scheduled initial interventions with patients

Perform brief, limited follow-up visits for selected patients

Actively participate in meetings that support IHC’s integrated healthcare model for comprehensive care

Assist in detecting “at‑risk” patients and developing plans to prevent further deterioration

Assist the primary care team in developing care management processes such as guidelines, disease management techniques, case management, and patient education to improve self‑management of chronic disease, including substance use

Teach patients, families, and staff about prevention and treatment enhancement techniques

Monitor the site’s behavioral health program, identify problems related to patient service, and make recommendations for improvement

Desired Skillset

Excellent working knowledge of behavioral medicine and evidence-based treatments for medical and mental health conditions

Comfortable with the pace of primary care, working with an interdisciplinary team

Ability to design and implement clinical pathways and protocols for treatment of chronic conditions

Ability to work through brief patient contacts and make quick, accurate clinical assessments

Strong communication skills

Cultural awareness and sensitivity

Good knowledge of psychopharmacology

Requirements

Master’s degree in social work from an accredited university/college

LCSW, LMFT, or LCMHC licensure in the state of Indiana

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AED included)

Active and clean Indiana driver’s license, including state‑mandated auto insurance

At least 1 year of experience (3 years or more preferred)
