Patient Access Supervisor, Full Time Days, 40 Hours, Patient Access
Position: Day Shift, 40 hours per week in Putnam, CT at Day Kimball Health.
Day Kimball Health, a trusted nonprofit healthcare provider for nearly 130 years, is hiring a Patient Access Supervisor for the Patient Accounts Department. Join us in delivering high‑quality, compassionate care.
Job Summary Directs and delegates workflow and staffing for the Patient Access staff, monitors performance and conducts evaluations, resolves staff performance issues. Oversees the registration process for all hospital service areas except behavioral health and physical medicine. Acts as the primary point for systems implementation and troubleshooting, supervising staff across all three shifts.
Key Responsibilities
Directs and delegates workflow in managing the front‑end revenue cycle.
Directly supervises a staff of 20‑25, supporting and establishing monthly registration goals and expectations.
Serves as a resource to Patient Access staff and provides cross‑coverage.
Performs coverage and analysis by performing registration duties; updates and implements procedures as necessary.
Assists with payroll preparation and creates monthly work schedules to ensure adequate staffing while minimizing overtime; reports labor variances.
Follows up on patient concerns promptly.
Implements the AIDET communication framework and promotes excellent customer service.
Education
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business required or 5+ years of supervisory medical experience.
Experience
Five years of supervisory experience in a hospital environment within Patient Access or Patient Accounts.
Knowledge of medical and insurance terminology preferred.
Strong coaching and mentoring skills required.
Ability to handle multiple priorities.
