Physical Requirements:
Body weight less than 215 lbs; capable of lifting, standing, riding in ambulances and helicopters; shift 6 pm–6:30 am (includes weekends and holidays)
Job Summary Neonatal/pediatric transport is a complex, highly organized, dynamic process that requires highly skilled personnel to act independently away from the protected environment of KCH. Patient outcomes are optimized by stabilization and expedient disposition of patients to definitive care. This position also provides guidance, education, and expertise to nursing staff in any pediatric area, fostering recognition and response to patient care issues, improving quality of care, and encouraging critical thinking. The outreach education to referral facilities enhances collegial relationships and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Stabilize and transport neonatal/pediatric patients in ambulances and helicopters.
Coordinate care with transport teams and receiving facilities.
Provide in‑situ education and mentorship to nursing staff in pediatric settings.
Lead quality improvement initiatives related to transport care.
Maintain accurate transport documentation and comply with regulatory standards.
Skills and Knowledge
Assessment, communication, and organization skills.
Preferred Qualifications
BSN (BSN preferred).
Experience in neonatal and/or pediatric critical care (minimum 3 years).
Previous transport experience (preferred).
