Job Summary Neonatal/pediatric transport is a complex, highly organized, dynamic process that requires highly skilled personnel able to act independently away from the protected environment of KCH. Patient outcomes are optimized by stabilizing and expediently discharging patients to definitive care. This position also provides guidance, education and expertise to nursing staff in any pediatric area, enabling better recognition and response to patient care issues, improved quality of care, and the opportunity for development of critical thinking skills. The outreach education provided by this position to referral facilities ensures a collegial relationship and enhances outcomes.

Responsibilities • Conduct rapid stabilization and transport of neonatal and pediatric patients in ambulances and helicopters.

• Provide advanced monitoring and interventions during transport.

• Deliver education and guidance to tertiary and community nursing teams.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary transport and medical teams to ensure seamless patient care.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

Assessment, communication, and organization.

Physical Requirements Maintain a body weight less than 215 lbs. Must be capable of lifting, standing, riding in ambulances, and operating helicopters.

Required Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN) license.

Accredited nursing diploma (ADN).

Minimum 3 years of RN experience in neonatal and/or pediatric critical care settings.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Previous transport experience preferred but not required.
